Caramel Apple

Yay to BB for bringing back Caramel Apple! If you didn’t know, you can pick it up online at their web store by clicking here.

I can’t wait to get mine in the mail. I think it is a classic flavor and I always like anything -apple flavored that BB does. The drizzle-y caramel packaging is cute too!

If that got you in the Autumn/Halloween spirit like it did me, I recommend the yummy Halloween collection from a few years ago (which also has Caramel Apple).

It looks like they are also bringing out some beautiful 6-pack tins for the holidays, sort of like the Skittles ones they did awhile ago. So far I’ve spotted The Little Mermaid, Minnie, and milkshake themed tins.

I’ll probably be grabbing the Ariel tin because it appears to have redone labels and flavor names.

Please let me know if you spot anything else! This is a BUSY & fun time of year for us addicts, ha 😀

I have some cool news! Last summer I posted a preview of what the new retro Dr Pepper biggy Lip Smacker might look like and it turned out to be pretty accurate–

Dr Pepper 2013 Retro Lip Smacker

It should be available in Target veeeeery soon

Here it is next to the other recent Dr Pepper biggy

(sorry for the bad pictures, it’s a super shiny tube and it was really hard to photograph!)

Pretty sure I have this logo on a t-shirt somewhere, ha 😀

vintage-dr-pepper-logo-t-shirt-galleryI won’t comment on the formula since we all know it is perfection, so I’ll just say I’m liking the design a lot especially the darker red color and worn look.

The retro styles BB have done this year are FUN & I’m happy they decided to go through with this one!

lime

I don’t know about you guys but this has been one hot week so far.  With that in mind, there is no better way to wrap up this warm weather than to dig out the most summery smackers I can think of–the Australian smackers!

sydney-olympic-smackers

This cute limited edition 6-piece set was designed all the way back in 2000 for the Sydney Summer Olympics.

It’s especially cool because it is themed from top to bottom, from the tin…

…to the cardboard packaging…

…and of course to the adorable Lip Smackers themselves 😀

All of the smackers have a shiny metallic label that is decorated with cute art that matches the name.

Some fishies on Surfin’ Strawberry :]

I love that the names are themed too. Bubble Gum Tree!

Kooka Berry

Here’s Kooka Berry which is named after the Kookaburra bird.

Apparently the Kookaburra are known for their bird-call because it sounds like maniacal, almost human-like laughter. Here’s a youtube vid.

Wild Berry BoomerangWild Berry Boomerang. What do you call a boomerang that doesn’t come back? A stick. Groan… 😀

If you noticed that these flavors are quite similar to the cosmic/shimmer collection, you’d be right. Below is the yummy Ayers Rock Candy.

Ayers Rock CandyAccording to Wikipedia, Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock) is a “large sandstone rock formation in the southern part of Australia.”

I think “Uluru Rock Candy” sounds pretty cool in a spacey way.

Koala LimeLastly is Koala Lime which wins the award for Most Precious Thing on the Planet. Lime also happens to be one of Bonne Bell’s best flavors.

I’ve always heard that koalas are really mean but I am just going to keep pretending they’re Australia’s tree kittens. 😛

Speaking of kittens, here’s mine enjoying Wild Berry Boomerang. Well the cap, anyway.

Just a quick post… who had this delicious set back in the mid-90’s?

They have very accurate formulas and both have kept their strong scent despite pushing two decades old 🙂 Strawberry Chocolate had a lovely red tint that showed up when worn while Raspberry Chocolate has a colorless balm.

They also came with a keyring cap–if anyone has that version we’d love to see a picture!

Banana Marshmallow

The blog is overdue for a vintage spotlight post!

This time around I have chosen Banana Marshmallow, a vintage biggy Lip Smacker that perfectly captures the amazing delicious-to-unique ratio the old flavors perfected so long ago.

I know I say this probably 99% of the time but this really is one of the all-time best! Look at that brown font and unrelenting yellow tube! Oh and the necklace hook on the bottom that so many smackers of that era had 😀 It really highlights the design aesthetic of the time.

Banana MarshmallowAlso props to Bonne Bell on the scent, because even though marshmallow tends to be one of their weaker flavors (in that it loses hold of its scent pretty quick) this decades old smacker smells like it rolled off the factory line yesterday– in fact scent-wise it actually leans more in marshmallow’s favor.

I know it’s only August but you can bet Bonne Bell already have something up their sleeve for the upcoming holiday collections…this is definitely a worthy bring-back contender 😀
