Hi everyone! :] I finally got my hands on all 6 of the new Luscious Lip Smackers and I am pretty thrilled with them! I’ve been wishing for black tubed smackers so I was excited when these were announced.

Good things: I looove lovelove when BB does jelly textures; they’re nice and long lasting.
They’re SUPER shiny. They’d work well over lip color but are great on their own.
The scents are strong and amazing even before first use. Something about this particular formula really brings it out. And they taste so good (I’m talking 90’s good, if you remember that girl in 3rd grade who would eat Lip Smackers during class).
Plus, THEY ARE SO PRETTY:

My current favorites are Pomegranate Fizz, Mango Fizz, and Pink Grapefruit Sparkler which I can’t stop using.

Bad things: Not too many.
The packaging gave me a lip tint vibe so I’m surprised they’re so colorless. That’s growing on me though; they’re versatile.
Unfortunately the tube design feels really wobbly like the balm could eventually snap off.

luscious-comparisonThey’re also smaller than expected at 0.11 oz  (versus the normal 0.14 oz size) which is significantly less product. However they’re super inexpensive and the balm is high quality.

This isn’t necessarily bad, but a few of them are really glittery. Some people might not like that.

Love these, recommend them, and I hope BB expands the family. This could be a really glam line if they wanted 🙂

lip-smacker-double-cheeseburgerThe Lip Smacker novelties have brought us a lot of unexpected flavors, and I have to say, I am pretty impressed by what they’ve put together for the more um, unique stuff 🙂 It’s no surprise really, BB has quite the varied history if you think about it.

BB didn’t hold back on Double Cheeseburger or Sweet Potato Fries either; but no worries, this trio leans more toward diner-style than ‘8 hour shift at a greasy fast food establishment’ 😀

Double Cheeseburger is the smacker I was most curious about, and I can confirm that it’s pretty burger-y indeed. It’s a bit overwhelming and has a strong onion flavor going on.  Unsurprisingly it’s not one most people will use, but it’s fun to know it exists.

The Sweet Potato Fries lip balm has a general veggie scent to it, wrapped up in a sweet, almost caramel note. I think some people will like this one as it’s a lot lighter and accessible. A cute spin on the french fry idea.

We’ve had variations on Strawberry Milkshake throughout the years so there’s nothing new to say about that.

I really do like the novelties we’ve seen so far. They’re entertaining and the bold artwork is great.

The Disney princesses were given a bit of a makeover for the new year!

The 6-piece tin set is beautiful

The full party pack set which also includes Tiana and Aurora.

These have the same flavors as the previous iterations. However if you’re a completionist these are a must 🙂

After the small (but cute!) release last Valentine’s day,  I was happy to see six new ones this time around.

Like previous sets, the flavors are all similar to recent releases. In short, don’t expect the original 90’s Apple or Grape.

I like the names (Donut Forget Me!) and the packaging, which will make a nice addition to the growing Valentine’s day collections. Plus the balms themselves are consistently smooth and strong.

Definitely worth picking up before the holiday is over!

Remember the new Disney/Pixar Lip Smackers I mentioned awhile back? I’m 99% sure now that these are UK exclusives. Here are some better pics-

The Minnie trio-set has familiar flavors in Cupcake Cutie, Strawberry Fun, & Berry Sweet.

Precious!

The Cars 2 flavors are Vroom Vroom Vanilla, Racin’ Raspberry, Grand Prix Kiwi. I’m not a Cars/Planes fan but I like the embossed tins.

Planes:

Bolt Rattlin’ Banana Split (haha), Barrel Roll Blueberry, and Soarin’ Strawberry.

Can you believe they snuck our beloved Blueberry into a random Planes trio?! Unsurprisingly it’s not the strong Blueberry we remember, but a subtle, non-tart version 🙁 Think Blueberry Muffin without the muffin. I guess those of us wanting the true-blue Blueberry we remember will have to keep waiting.

Since these are just a spin on the original flavors, I’d file these sets under For Fanatics; worth getting if you like collecting the new art, but are fairly standard otherwise.
