I have an absolutely amazing sneak preview for Bunny Cookie readers and you guys are going to love it!

Lookie, lookie…

lip-smacker-2014

Ooo, check that out… the 1970s called and they are not getting Coconut Cake (1977), Caramel Corn (1977), and Sour Apple (1974) back 🙂 It’s all for us!

And you better believe those are 90’s fan-favorites Cinnamon Sugar (1996), and Grape Jelly (1994). Eep. How perfect is that timing with the 90’s trend we’re seeing right now? Judging by these flavors popularity they aren’t a second too soon.

Rounding out this sweet preview are Sprinkle Donut (yesss, donut), and familiar flavors Cherry Cobbler, and Strawberry Shortcake.

These should be rolling out around February next year. What flavors are you freaking out over and what are you surprised to see? I really didn’t expect Sour Apple!

147 Thoughts on “A Sweet Revival

  1. Omg! Where did you find this! You secretly work for bonne bell don’t you! 😛

  2. They shared it on your site?!

Ps. My god I’m starting to sound obsessed with your blog! i cant help it! i check it so much! haha! I put some videos in YouTube and people want me to elaborate but I’m not really one for being/talking on camera! That’s why I’m gunna just write about my collection haha!

  3. this is soooo cool lol, i feel special reading this. im pumped for cin sug but im totally shocked at grape jelly and sour apple.

sprinkle donut is new right? i only remember sprinle cookie.

man i just cant get over grape jelly 🙂

    • I know, right?! Such a nice surprise! And yeah, can’t wait to see what they have up their sleeve with the donut flavor.

      • I really hope Sprinkle Donut is unique and very ‘donut-y’! Hopefully it’ll be different then their Sprinkle Cupcake/ Sprinkle Cake flavors they’ve done. (Which were good but had the Strawberry Cupcake flavor)
I really loved Berry Jelly Donut years ago and wanted them to do a glazed donut type flavor for years! The Daisy Duck Jelly Donut they did last year was alright but didn’t have a distinct flavor, very basic and a little generic for BB.

Anyway, can’t wait to try Sprinkle Donut, too! This collection is phenomenal!!!

      • the site is christmasy 😀

  4. AMMMazing!!! I’ll be buying plenty of these! Caramel Corn!? Cinnamon Sugar!? Grape Jelly!? Sour Apple!? I love their Green Apple flavors and they’re oh so rare! And the rest sound simply superb!!! I hope they keep Cinnamon Sugar just the way it was a not change a thing.

I’m so glad for these as I feel they could of brought many more rare flavors back this year for their 40th. This definitely makes up for it and is a fantastic start!!!

I really hope to see Banana Marshmallow, Orange Chocolate, Pink Grapefruit, Blueberry, Rum Raisin, Maple Nut and Butter Rum in the near future too.

I wonder what Red Licorice will come in as I’m SO EXCITED for that too!!!
    Aahhhhhh!!! 😀

    • You said it! Their apple flavors are out of this world.
I think most of us would stop breathing if Blueberry came back 🙂 It’s up there with Cin Sug in my mind.

  5. I’m SO excited for Coconut Cake and Cinnamon Sugar! I’m surprised to see Sour Apple and Grape Jelly because I never knew those two flavors existed until I found your blog. 🙂 I’m also pretty happy about Cherry Cobbler too since I use the Mickey Mouse one alot and now I don’t have to feel bad about using it since it was kind of hard for me to find. In fact, maybe I’ll set the Mickey one aside until I get this set :).

    • I know what you mean, Cherry Cobbler is a great flavor for them to re-release.

Ooh, so will this be the first time you try Grape Jelly? Assuming the formula is comparable to the 90s one you’ll love it.

  6. I’m super excited for cinnamon sugar, sour apple, and grape jelly! =) Also, I looked like a major insane person tonight at walmart, as they had all their Christmas stuff out and I noticed the new lip smackers on the shelf’s way above the cosmetics and I couldn’t reach them! =( So, I went over and got a broom and knocked down a couple sets. Lol, yep I love my lip smacker’s.

    • Hahah, something only fellow fanatics would understand. That’s hilarious 😀

And good to hear that some Walmarts are getting stuff out there already. I know mine loves taking its sweet time!

  7. mmm…those sound yummy!

  8. Verrrry excited to see this as I just wrote Bonne Bell last week and begged for such a set. I joking told them that since many of their buyers are women who buy them due to remembering purchasing them as teens, that they owed it to us to bring back some old favorites 😉 Guess they secretly knew they were already doing just that. You made my day!!! (Cinnamon Sugar…my dreams came true!!)

I am in Europe but I will have a close eye out for these online. Ive heard everyone on bunny cookie raving about cinnamon sugar… 🙂

  15. Mmm, I love anything coconut. I’ve enjoyed Strawberry Shortcake and I am glad to see B.B. will continue that scent. I was slacking in the 90s and never tried those scents, which I will assuredly change this time around…

  16. By the way, I didn’t hand out Caramel Apple for Halloween *frown.* But I did pick up around seven of them to have on hand in every place possible! LOL. I would still like to do something like this next year.

    Deb

    • Thanks for the update, I was wondering if you ended up doing it 🙂 7 is a nice haul, you’re set for awhile. Or at least for a week or so, haha.

  17. If I could get my hands on Caramel Corn before Christmas my Mom and Aunt would be in heaven! They’ve talked about having the original Biggy one (yea, from the 70’s!!!) and how they used to fight over it so my Grandmother bought them each one and then one for herself, as she loved it too! I have the Paul Frank Caramel Corn and love it and will be stocking up quite the stash of this one as I love the label on it. Cannot wait!!!

    • That’s the cutest! That will make a thoughtful gift.

I love how in a certain age range, everybody’s mom/grandma looved Lip Smackers growing up. There aren’t a lot of products so generational like that, at least not as far as lip balm is concerned.

    grape jelly

    coconut cake
    cherry cobbler
    strawberry shortcake
    sprinkle donut

i never found shortcake where i live which is why its higher then sprinkle donut. but its mostly a tie. my birthday is in march so im going to ask for these!

    ahhhhhhhhhhhhh i want these!!

  21. This is exciting because I still have my original PeanutButter, just not Grape Jelly. I can have my full set again!

  22. I hope they bring back the Raspberry Chocolate and Root Beer Float flavors. Those were among my first lip smackers 🙂

i don’t really like cinnamon anything except for this chapstick…:D i am so pleased to hear it’s making an overdue comeback.

  25. Do you know whether they will be introducing more flavors in the biggy size for 2014? I thought I saw something about that on their Facebook . . .

    • I don’t know anything yet, but I’m crossing my fingers for that Black Cherry still. It sounds like there should be something. As soon as I hear anything I’ll let you know.
